Before you submit your order to Optic Clear, you have to obtain a prescription from your doctor or ophthalmologist. Once you have the prescription, you can enter the order by giving us the necessary details reflected in your prescription.
The prescription that you provide tells us the necessary information to fabricate the eyeglass lenses to meet your needs and requirements. This is to ensure that you have a bright and comfortable pair of lenses for your vision. Two basic types of prescriptions are commonly used and the sample prescription tables are shown below. Kindly use the sample tables as your reference.

Important notes:
- Plus "+" and Minus "-" sign in the table are very important. Take note of the signs especially under SPH, CYL and ADD column.
- Astigmatism correction (Cylinder or CYL). If the column is left blank on the table indicates that your eyesight does not need correction and leave the column blank when you submit your order.
- If there is no numbers for CYL, AXIS, PRISM or ADD in your prescription, leave these fields blank. When there is only one number on each eye under SPH column, the numbers are for sphere power only.
- If your prescription is for bifocals and only one ADD power in the prescription table, you might have the same ADD for both eyes. If no number is written under the ADD column, leave the column blank.
- Prescription for reading-only eyeglasses is to enter the numbers on the lower half of the prescription table and exclude the ADD column as in Sample 2.
Pupillary Distance (P.D. or PD)
This measurement is necessary for the lenses to center correctly in your frame. The measurement is taken from the distance between the center of your right pupil to the center of your left pupil in millimeters(mm).
Segment Height
For progresive lens, this measurement is necessary for the lens to position correctly at the center of your pupil in your frame. You need to use the frame that you intend to send and take the measurement. The vertical height from the bottom of the frame to the center of your pupil when you are wearing. The measurement in millimeters(mm) does not include the thickness of the frame. This is to ensure that the lenses are in position when you are wearing the glasses.
